What is an Airless Dispenser?
An airless, i.e. airtight, dispenser has a mechanical pump inside the packaging. Depressing the pump releases a small amount of skincare product from the dispenser by lifting the false bottom within the packaging. The resulting vacuum means that even small quantities can be transported out of the dispenser, even in a horizontal position. No air gets into the dispenser.
What advantages does an airless dispenser have over conventional packaging?
- An airless dispenser ensures the effectiveness of the product. Exposure of a skincare product to oxygen and light can lead to oxidation of the ingredients. This is then expressed in a change in the color, smell or effectiveness of the product. Our opaque airless dispenser completely excludes atmospheric air and light.
- The airless dispenser is more hygienic. By excluding air, the product remains germ-free for longer. This means the product has a long shelf life with fewer preservatives.
- Less product residue is wasted. The product is almost completely pushed out of the airless dispenser. So there are no leftovers left behind, which are often thrown away in conventional packaging.
