It's 7 a.m. and you worked late yesterday or were out with friends. As soon as you stand in front of the mirror, you notice noticeable circles under your eyes - everyone knows that feeling.
But what are dark circles actually and what can you do about them? We asked our experts.
Dark circles under the eyes are usually due to translucent blood vessels, which can be hereditary or the result of stress, lack of sleep or lack of fluids. However, some dark circles can also be caused by what is known as hyperpigmentation of the skin. While the first type of dark circles can be treated relatively easily, the latter is more difficult and should be treated individually by a doctor.
